Alachua County Man Arrested for Domestic Battery

Alachua County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Devin Demitrious Hartsfield, 27, Tuesday and charged him with domestic battery. 

According to the arrest report, the victim told police Hartsfield slapped her in the back of her head four times before hitting her with a belt, leaving visible injuries. 

Hartsfield reportedly “admitted to striking the victim one or two times across the arms with a belt” and “advised he only hit her out of pure rage in the moment.”

Hartsfield is being held in the Alachua County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
