Alachua County Man Sentenced to Three Years of Probation for Aggravated Stalking After Court Order
Last month, Gil Gio Nasser De Los Reyes, 28, was convicted of misdemeanor and felony staking charges and avoided prison time.
On March 27, 2025, Alachua County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested De Los Reyes and charged him with aggravated stalking and using a two-way communications device to facilitate a felony.
Deputy Carlton Litzkow responded to the victim’s residence around 8:00 p.m. after receiving reports of a residential burglary. He made contact with De Los Reyes on the front sidewalk of the residence. Litzkow asked De Los Reyes if he resided at the location and he said he didn’t and was visiting a friend from school.
The homeowner told police that De Los Reyes had been stalking his adult daughter (the victim). The victim said she and De Los Reyes attended middle school together 15 years ago, but they never dated and were not friends. The victim said she wouldn’t even consider De Los Reyes an acquaintance.
De Los Reyes went as far as to make an Instagram page that combined the names of himself and the victim. He also resorted to contacting the victim’s family and interacting with her friends on social media.
The victim estimated that De Los Reyes contacted her hundreds of times between January and March 2025, sometimes 20 times per day. A week before De Los Reyes’ arrest, the victim told him that she would contact police if he continued contacting her.
The victim had no idea how De Los Reyes got the personal contact information of herself and her family. The victim said De Los Reyes harassing her made her feel unsafe, in danger and constantly stressed out.
De Los Reyes remained in jail as his case was pending due to prosecutors filing a successful pretrial detention motion.
On April 8, 2025, Deputy Marco Valbuena charged De Los Reyes with violating the no-contact order while in jail. De Los Reyes sent the victim a love-letter and other pieces of mail. When asked why, De Los Reyes told police that he did not agree with the judge’s point-of-view.
In May 2025, prosecutors formally filed charges against De Los Reyes for aggravated stalking after a court order and misdemeanor stalking.
The case was in mental health court from July 2025 until Judge Denise Ferrero found De Los Reyes competent to stand trial in March 2026.
On July 21, 2026, De Los Reyes entered into a no-contest plea agreement that was accepted by Judge Susanne Wilson Bullard, in which he was convicted and sentenced to three years of probation. The plea deal had input from the victim, the form states.
