Alachua County Sex Offender Arrested for Not Complying with Registration Requirements
Alachua County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested registered sex offender Bradford Keith Gary, 33, Thursday for two registration violation charges.
In 2014, a jury in Alachua County found Gary guilty of committing sexual battery against a child. Judge Mark Mosley sentenced him to ten years in prison followed by five years of probation.
In February 2025, Gary was arrested after violating his probation by using Snapchat without an internet safety plan. Judge Denise Ferrero reinstated Gary’s probation.
On April 20, 2026, Gary completed his quarterly sex offender registration and listed his address as in Gainesville.
On April 27, 2026, Undersheriff Josh Crews contacted Deputy Ryan Depete about Gary not reporting his new address in High Springs to ACSO or the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE).
Further, one of the vehicles Gary had registered had incorrect license plate information. The vehicle in question is owned by Gary’s mother. Sex offenders are required to list all the vehicles that are regularly parked at their residence regardless of who the owner is.
Depete reported the following:
"On April 28, 2026, I conducted an address verification For Gary at the High Springs address. Upon arrival I was unable to access the property due to a locked gate. I contacted Gary by telephone and he immediately said he does not live there but does own the house. Gary [willingly] met me at ACSO and he was interviewed within the Criminal Investigations Division (CID). Post Miranda, Gary informed me he purchased the house in High Springs on March 31, 2026 and he is there every day renovating the house. Gary said he has never slept overnight at the residence because of his sexual offender probation status and he has a curfew at [10:00 p.m.]. Pursuant to FSS 943.0435, Gary is required to list his High Springs residence because of his future plans to move in the house. I discussed the Nissan Versa with Gary and he said he was unaware his mother changed the licensed plate.
It was explained to Gary that he is responsible to ensure all of his information is provided accurately to the registration office, it is not the registration office personnel's responsibility. Because Gary is not allowed to access the internet, he said his mother will utilize the FDLE's Cyber Communication System to update certain information for him as needed. On the FDLE Sexual Predator/Offender Registration Form, Gary initialed by each requirement and signed the document stating he read and understood all of what is required of him.
I consulted with FDLE about the Nissan Versa License plate information not being updated, and because the vehicle is registered to Gary's permanent residence the license plate information was required to be [updated] within 48-hours, and Gary was in fact in violation. In addition to Gary failing to update the license plate information for the Nissan Versa, he provided false information on his FDLE registration by act or omission on April 20, 2026, for not providing the accurate license plate information.”
Gary’s new charges have also placed him in violation of his probation.
If convicted, Gary faces over ten years in prison.
