Christopher Wayne Hilderbran, 34, was convicted of domestic battery Tuesday and sentenced to one year of probation.

Facing up to a year in jail for the misdemeanor, Hilderbran took a plea deal that was accepted by Judge Susan Miller-Jones.

According to the police report, the victim told Hilderbran she was going to leave him if he didn’t seek help for his meth addiction. Hilderbran grabbed the victim’s phone and then grabbed her by the hair and threw her to the ground as she was running away.

The victim told police she and Hilderbran had been arguing over the previous few days due to him accusing her of cheating. She said Hilderbran suffered from paranoia and was using meth while neglecting to take his prescribed medication.

Hilderbran’s probation will require him to enroll in a batterers’ intervention program and undergo evaluations and treatment for mental health and substance abuse.
