Bronson Man Sentenced to 18 Months in Prison for Battery

Kashone Demetrious Bing, 20, was convicted of felony battery by a repeat offender Tuesday and sentenced to 18 months in prison.
Facing over two decades in prison if his case went to trial, Bing pleaded no contest in a plea deal that was accepted by Judge David Kreider.
According to court records, Alachua County Sheriff’s Office deputies met with the victim at the hospital after receiving reports about a battery that occurred at her residence.
The victim explained that Bing had been taking care of her since she had an injury, and they started sleeping together.
On March 31, Bing saw the victim getting phone calls from other men and became angry. Bing reportedly went outside, saying he needed to “calm down.”
While Bing was outside, the victim’s injury began flaring up, and she called a family member to take her to the hospital.
When the victim told Bing she was going to the hospital, he got angry and punched her in the face.
The victim waited until April 4 to call police because Bing accompanied her to the hospital, and she didn’t feel safe with him around.
Deputy Matthew Freeman reported he had to speak with Bing over the phone because he was at his grandma’s residence in Bronson.
Bing told Freeman he didn’t know if he knew the victim because he knows several people who share her first name.
Freeman reported “Bing side stepped every question I had in regards to the victim, [had] several different answers as to his whereabouts during the time of the incident and became loud, aggressive, and talked over me every time I would question an inconsistency in his story. Bing advised that he had no idea who I was speaking about when referring to the victim, stating that he knows a lot of people, so how could I expect him to know someone based off their first and last name. Bing also spontaneously uttered that he didn't know anyone [with the victim’s first name] that had been involved in a crash recently, prior to my mentioning it. There were a multitude of inconsistencies and lies in Bing's statements.”
In January 2022, Bing was convicted of aggravated battery and resisting an officer without violence and sentenced to two months in prison.
