A man convicted of sexual battery against a minor is back behind bars for the next two months for violating his probation.

Marcus Lemar Brantley was convicted of sexual battery against a minor in 2021 and sentenced to four years in prison followed by ten years of probation.

Court records show Brantley was found in violation of his probation for not submitting to electronic monitoring. He was unable to be tracked for one hour.

Judge David Kreider sentenced Brantley on Tuesday to 60 days in jail with seven days credit for time served.

The Gainesville Sun covered Brantley’s case after his arrest, reporting he had a “sexual relationship with a 16-year-old who is developmentally disabled… The teen told officers sometimes their sexual encounters were consensual, but on one occasion in October, Brantley drove her to an Ocala apartment and choked her before forcing her to have sex.”

Brantley will be released from jail in August.
