First Coast Tech College Student Arrested for Dating Violence in Gainesville

Gainesville Police Department officers arrested Kenneth Christofer Huenink, 19, Friday and charged him with misdemeanor dating violence.

According to the arrest report, Huenink kicked the victim after she broke up with him, causing her to tell him to get away and to not touch her.

Huenink then picked the victim up and attempted to carry her to her apartment, which was seen by two witnesses.

Huenink reportedly admitted to kicking the victim when questioned by police but said it was “accidental” and that he “immediately apologized.” Huenink admitted to picking up the victim and carrying her and said he put her down after she asked.

Huenink was released from the Alachua County Jail after posting a $2,500 bond. According to his first appearance order, he is a student at First Coast Technical College in St. Augustine.
