Man Arrested After Admitting to CSAM Possession, Tells Police he was Involved in Similar Investigation in Oklahoma
A man who reportedly avoided charges after being involved in an investigation for possessing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in Oklahoma has been arrested in Gainesville, Florida for the same offense.
Thursday morning, Gainesville Police Department (GPD) officers arrested Anthony Terrell Leslie, 36, and charged him with ten counts of possessing CSAM.
According to a Facebook post by GPD, “The investigation was prompted after GPD received multiple CyberTips from NCMEC indicating that a Google account holder was storing and possessing [CSAM]. Further investigation by Detective Montague, of [GPD], revealed that the suspect account holder was likely Anthony T Leslie.”
When contacted by investigators, Leslie reportedly said he “messed up” and acknowledged that GPD was present as a result of his own actions. Leslie reportedly “told investigators that they would locate CSAM on his cellphone, that the suspect account was his and he still likely possessed around 500 files of abuse material.”
GPD reported, “Leslie would go on to describe how he was involved in a similar investigation, in Oklahoma, dating back many years but they couldn’t prove who did it at the time.” Police later confirmed that in February 2013, a search warrant related to a CSAM investigation was conducted at an Oklahoma residence that Leslie had ties to.
A complete forensic analysis is still pending and Lesie is held in the Alachua County Jail on a $1,000,000 bond.
