Gainesville Man Arrested for Domestic Battery
Alachua County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Mikel Green II, 34, on Sunday and charged him with misdemeanor domestic battery.
According to the arrest report, Green jumped on the victim’s back when she was packing her belongings and grabbed her. She also mentioned that Green pushed her when they were walking through a doorway.
The victim had respective scratches and cuts on her forearm and wrist. Green declined to speak with deputies.
Green was released from jail on a $50,000 bond set by Judge Tatum Davis under orders to not contact the victim or possess any firearms.
Green has no prior battery convictions, but he was previously arrested for felony domestic battery in 2024 against a different victim, but the State Attorney’s Office of the Eighth Judicial Circuit declined to prosecute.
The arrest report from his dropped case stated Green hit the victim in her face with an open hand hard enough to cause a serious laceration that required surgery, leaving a scar.
Prior to the incident, Green had reportedly texted the victim, “On my soul Ima beat the shit outta u and go to jail.”
A deputy wrote in the report, “Post Miranda, [Green] stated that the victim hit him first and pulled his hair. [Green] further stated that he never put his hands on the victim but then corrected himself and said that he did push [her] away from him. Finally, [Green] denied sending the threatening text messages to the victim and said that he never contacted [her] via text, which is a lie as the messages showed [him] and the victim communicating frequently about [their] child.”
Back in 2023, Green was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery for allegedly battering the same victim from the 2026 case. Prosecutors dropped it before a warrant or arrest. Green was reportedly unfaithful in a relationship with the victim, and similar to the report from the 2026 case, he allegedly became hostile when she started packing her belongings. The victim reported that when moving her items out of the home, Green bit her on the hand, pulled her outside down a ramp, and punched her in the back of the head multiple times. She had a bite mark on her left hand and a scratch or her neck. Green didn't return attempts from deputies to contact him.
As a misdemeanor, domestic battery carries a maximum sentence of one year in jail.
