Gainesville Man Arrested for Assaulting 17-Year-Old and Battering Woman Less Than Year After Prison Release
Jason Junior Bratcher Jr. (ACSO Jail)

Alachua County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Jason Junior Bratcher Jr., 33, Thursday and charged him with misdemeanor assault and domestic battery.

According to the arrest report, Bratcher threatened to “rip” the “head off” the 17-year-old victim before lunging at him. Bratcher reportedly shoved the adult victim to the side in an attempt to get to the minor victim. The adult victim sustained physical injuries.

Bratcher reportedly admitted to shoving the adult victim when speaking to police, but said it was “not to hurt her but in [an] attempt to get to the” minor victim.

Bratcher, who’s been ordered to have no contact with the victims, was released after posting a $7,000 bond set by Judge Susan Miller-Jones.

Bratcher has eleven prior adjudications (nine felonies and two misdemeanors) all for property-related offenses. He was released from prison in October 2025 after serving roughly four years.
