Gainesville Man Arrested for Domestic Battery by Strangulation and Obstructing Justice

Alachua County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Achanti Nakeim Crowder, 31, Monday on a warrant for larceny, obstructing justice, domestic battery by strangulation and domestic battery by a repeat offender. 

According to the sworn complaint, Crowder grabbed the victim’s hair and choked her. Crowder reportedly grabbed the victim’s phone when she tried to call the police. 

Crowder was arrested for domestic battery in 2023 and was later granted a withheld adjudication in the case.

Crowder was also booked for allegedly stealing several NFL and NBA sports cards.

Crowder’s bond is set at $155,000, court records show.
