Gainesville Man Arrested for Felony Kidnapping, Stalking, Strangulation and Intimidation

Gainesville Police Department officers arrested Neil Joseph Kazmerski, 33, Tuesday and charged him with felony kidnapping, aggravated stalking, domestic battery by strangulation and intimidation.
According to the arrest report, the victim told police about multiple incidents over the past month where Kazmerski abused her.
During an altercation on July 28, Kazmerski reportedly restrained the victim and kidnapped her for ten minutes. The victim tried to break free, but Kazmerski choked her and shoved her into a piece of furniture, the arrest report states.
On Tuesday, Kazmerski reportedly sent the victim text messages threatening to burn her house down, attempted to break into her house, and was then seen by police leaving her property and entering his car.

A witness was with the victim when Kazmerski sent the threatening texts and attempted to break in, the arrest report states.
The victim showed police text messages relating to the July 28 incident where Kazmerski asked for pictures of her neck, as there were bruises from his prior attack.
According to the arrest report, Kazmerski “has a history of willfully, maliciously, and repeatedly sending the victim text messages containing hateful, degrading, and threatening language, only ceasing once [she] feels forced and responds to end the abuse.”
Kazmerski declined to speak with police following his arrest.
Kazmerski has no bond pending a pretrial detention motion by the State Attorney’s Office.
