Gainesville Police Department officers arrested Luis Sanchez, 57, Friday and charged him with domestic battery.

According to the arrest report, the victim was sitting on the couch when she got into an argument with Sanchez over a bicycle. Sanchez reportedly walked up to the victim and struck her in the forehead with a phone, leaving a visible bump.

A witness told police she did “not see a cellphone in [Sanchez’s] hand, but did observe [him] use his hand and scrape it across the victim’s face,” the arrest report states.

Sanchez reportedly told police the victim was "disrespecting" him and that he told her, “If you keep disrespecting me I'm going to hit you, but I don't want to.” Sanchez admitted to “scraping” the victim with the phone because she was “disrespecting” him, police reported.

Sanchez is being held in the Alachua County Jail on a $5,000 bond, court records show.
