Gainesville Man Arrested for Violating Stalking Probation
Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) deputies booked Marc Lindsay Anderson, 34, into jail Tuesday afternoon on a probation violation warrant for his stalking case.
On March 19, 2025, ACSO charged Anderson with stalking via sworn complaint. He was not arrested and instead issued a summons. Deputy Christin Reb DeLuca reported:
“[Anderson] was the victim’s boyfriend approximately four years ago. The relationship was approximately a year and a half and they did not reside together. Since their separation the victim has had some voluntary contact with [Anderson] however has asked him for the past few months to leave her alone. During 2024 [Anderson] left his belongings at her gate due to not having a place to keep them. The victim placed the abandoned items in her shed. Later the victim returned the items to [Anderson] however he continued to say the victim had a ‘vibrator’ belonging to him. The victim stated she has not had any of [Anderson]'s belongings since on or about Jan 25 of 2025. [Anderson] has continued to harass the victim through texts and has called the victim’s mother leaving messages threatening to come to the residence with a bunch of people to get his stuff. [Anderson]’s messages [are] are name calling and cursing at the victim with little mention of belongings showing he has no legitimate purpose to contact or speak to [her] in this way... The victim did respond a total of four times each of her responses included asking him to stop harassing her and to ‘leave me alone.’
The victim was at times tearful when discussing the ongoing messages and phone calls from [Anderson] displaying emotional distress. The victim stated she struggles with social interaction, struggling such as eye contact and socially isolating and believes this is due to [Anderson]’s harassment.”
On September 17, 2025, Anderson took a no contest plea deal in which he was convicted of stalking and sentenced to one year of probation.

Anderson was inhaling dust cleaner just one day before he took the plea deal, court records show. Gainesville Police Department Officer Darren Graham reported:
“[On September 16, 2025, at 2:45 a.m., at the Checkers on University Ave.], the witness went to check on [Anderson], who was in the restroom for approximately three hours. When the witness attempted to get [Anderson] to verify that he was okay, [Anderson] would not clearly respond back... When the witness opened door to the restroom, she observed [Anderson] sitting on the restroom floor inhaling electronic dust cleaner. I made contact with [Anderson], who was still sitting on the floor in the restroom and had two cans of dust cleaner in his possession.
Post Miranda, [Anderson] initially denied inhaling the dust cleaner, but then apologized for lying and admitted the inhaling the dust cleaning. [Anderson] advised he doesn’t know why he inhales dust cleaner.”

Anderson was charged with inhaling or ingesting a controlled substance. Anderson was not arrested and instead issued a summons. In January 2026, he entered a no contest plea deal in which he was convicted and received no sentence aside court cost payments.

On May 28, 2026, Anderson’s probation officer requested a probation violation warrant. He reportedly failed to pay court costs, failed to compete an anger management program, and failed to complete substance abuse/mental health treatment.
Anderson is held without bond and faces up to a year in jail.
