Gainesville Man Arrested Monday Morning for Knife Threats
Update | February 25, 2026:
On November 7, 2024, Bryan Licona was granted a withheld adjudication of improperly exhibiting a dangerous weapon and sentenced to one year of probation, which he completed early in August 2025.
Licona was out on a $15,000 bond while his case was ongoing and it doesn't appear he spent much time in jail. Prosecutors did file formal charges for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, however, he ended up pleading no contest to a lesser included offense.

Bryan Licona, 34, was arrested Monday morning and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill after threatening a man next door with a knife.
The victim was visiting the residence, and he and Licona were strangers before the altercation.
The victim exited the residence around 8:30 a.m. holding his infant child, and Licona began an argument with him over yard debris from his neighbor’s yard.
After a brief verbal argument, Licona reportedly pulled out a pocket knife and flipped it open, causing the man to retreat to his vehicle.
Licona asked the victim something to the effect of if they had a problem while walking towards him with his knife in his hands before stopping and walking back to his yard.
A witness from several houses away corroborated the victim’s account to the Gainesville Police Department.
