Gainesville Man Arrested on Warrant for Sending Written Threat to Kill
Draco Dariel James II (ACSO Jail)

Friday afternoon, police arrested Draco Dariel James II, 23, on a warrant for sending a written threat to kill.

James was initially charged on November 18 via sworn complaint.

According to the sworn complaint, Gainesville Police Department officers responded to the victim’s residence after she called 911 to report James arrived at the location against her will.

While she was on the phone with 911, James reportedly sat outside the victim’s residence demanding she come outside.

When officers met with the victim, she showed them text messages where James reportedly “demanded [she] come outside and threatened to kill her when she did.”

"The victim believed the threat to be credible and was afraid that [James] intended to carry it out if she exited her apartment," the sworn complaint states.

According to an Alachua County Jail employee, James was released Saturday afternoon after posting a $15,000 bond.
