Gainesville Man Arrested on Warrants for Domestic Battery and Municipal Ordinance Violation

On November 28, 2024, Marcus H. Calloway, 32, was arrested on warrants for domestic battery and a Gainesville open alcohol container municipal ordinance violation. 

On April 15, Calloway reportedly picked up his ex-girlfriend in his vehicle. While in the car, Calloway asked if they should get back together and she declined. Calloway got mad and started poking the victim in her face and tugging her arm. 

When the victim was exiting the vehicle and collecting her items from the floorboard, Calloway reportedly pushed her out of it before driving away.

Gainesville Police Department Officer Brianna Zayas-Pabst reported that Calloway was texting and calling the victim during the investigation. It's unclear if the messages related to the incident.

Zayas-Pabst reported that she tried speaking to Calloway but he didn’t answer.

Calloway was arrested on a warrant for the case along with an unrelated municipal ordinance violation warrant.

Update | September 11, 2026:

In February 2025, Calloway was convicted and sentenced to a year of probation. He completed his probation successfully.
