Antwain Demond Akins was previously charged with two counts of sexual battery against children. The charges in this case were dropped on June 27, 2025.

Update | August 29, 2026: The pretrial detention motion says that Akins is on probation via an interstate compact agreement for the charge of arson, however, he contacted GnvInfo disputing this, stating he has never been charged or convicted of arson.
