Gainesville Man Sentenced to Ten Years in Prison for Lewd/Lascivious Battery

In January 2026, Phillip Milton Marks, 37, was convicted of seven lewd/lascivious child sexual abuse charges and sentenced to ten years in the Florida Department of Corrections.

The case was resolved via a no-contest plea agreement between Marks and Gilchrist County prosecutors. The plea agreement was accepted by Judge David Kreider.

Marks was previously arrested in Alachua County on a warrant for the case.

Marks' prison sentence will be followed by 15 years of sex offender probation.
