Patrick Francis Pelletier, 24, was convicted of felony battery by a repeat offender Thursday and sentenced to 11 months and 29 days in jail with 70 days credit for time served after taking a plea deal that was accepted by Judge James Colaw.

According to the arrest report, Gainesville Police Department officers responded to Pelletier’s house after a neighbor called, advising they heard a woman screaming from the residence.

When police arrived, they observed the victim with a cut lip and bruised eye and crying, but she said she sustained her injuries from horseplaying with her child.

When police made contact with Pelletier, they observed a scab on his knuckle, but he said he punched a wall. Pelletier said the victim’s lip injury was from tripping shortly before police arrival and that her eye injury was sustained while moving a dresser a few days prior.

The victim told police Pelletier’s statements weren’t accurate, the arrest report states.

After being told Pelletier would be arrested, the victim said they were in a shoving match, and at some point he was on top of her, but that she didn’t know how her lip was injured due to having high adrenaline. She said she hurt her eye a week prior but didn’t provide specifics.

Pelletier has an open case for contacting the victim in violation of court orders.

Pelletier was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery against the same victim in May, but the case was dropped by the State Attorney’s Office, court records show.

Pelletier was convicted of felony battery in 2023 against a male victim, court records show.
