Gainesville Man Transferred from Hamilton County Jail to Alachua County Jail on Domestic Violence Charges

Deputies with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) transported Nathaniel Emmanuel Hayes, 29, to the Alachua County Jail Friday on a warrant for false imprisonment and felony battery by a repeat offender. 

According to a report by the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, on December 19, 2024, Hayes punched the victim in the face because she tried to help him pack up his stuff, leaving a large bruise.

On May 21, 2025, deputies with HCSO arrested Hayes after conducting a traffic stop and discovering his warrant.

Court records show Hayes was held in the HCSO jail until his extradition.

Hayes’ bond is set at $50,000.

Hayes' was granted a withheld adjudication in 2022 for a charge of aggravated battery against a pregnant woman. The arrest report from the case says he repeatedly punched the victim before kidnapping her.

Hayes was convicted of resisting an officer and sentenced to four years of probation, court records show.
