GPD Announces Shooting Death

Late Thursday night, the Gainesville Police Department announced on their Facebook that they were investigating a shooting death.

At 8:20 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of SE 16th Ave. and located a victim who suffered from a gunshot and succumbed to the injury, according to the post.

According to GPD, "The investigation remains active and additional information will be released as it becomes available." They also asked anyone with "information that could assist investigators" to call 352-955-1818.
