High Springs Man Gets Pretrial Diversion for Domestic Violence

High Springs Man Gets Pretrial Diversion for Domestic Violence
Charles Bryant Cline (ACSO Jail)

On January 16, prosecutors with the Eighth Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office granted Charles Bryant Cline, 21, a pretrial diversion for one count of misdemeanor domestic battery.

Alachua County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Cline on November 2, 2025.

The victim stated Cline and her were arguing when he began pulling her hair and covering her mouth. Sometime during the incident, Cline reportedly took the victim’s phone and smashed it.

The arrest report indicates the attack momentarily de-escalated, and the victim began getting ready for work. While in the bedroom, she and Cline argued again, and he shoved her to the ground.

Deputies viewed Ring camera footage that corroborated Cline shoving the victim.

Cline was released on recognizance under the orders of Judge Jonathan Ramsey.

On January 5, prosecutors formally filed charges against Cline, only to grant him a deferred prosecution agreement 11 days later.

Under the conditions of the agreement, Cline’s prosecution is deferred for one year if he can abide by certain conditions.

Cline is required to complete a mental health evaluation and a 29-week batterer’s intervention program.

Cline has the option to donate $150 to the Pace Center for Girls or complete 12 hours of community service.

Based on his pretrial investigative summary, Cline has no local criminal history but does have one adjudication from outside Alachua County or Florida from 2023.
