One of the civil lawsuits against Ignite Life Center (ILC) has been resolved.

The lawsuit was launched by Horowitz Law Firm on July 23, 2025. The Florida Multicultural District (FMD) of the Assemblies of God was named as a defendant alongside the Church. Both ILC and FMD were hit with civil counts of negligence.

The lawsuit describes how members of FMD and ILC failed to protect the plaintiff from being sexually abused by a much older minor female while attending the Ignite Summer Internship.

In September 2025, FMD motioned to dismiss the lawsuit, but they later came to an agreement with the plaintiff at a mediation conference. The plaintiff did not come to an agreement with ILC.

In October 2025, ILC filed a motion to dismiss citing the statute of limitations.

In November 2025, Horowitz attorney Jessica Arbour submitted a motion for sanctions against ILC for asserting an intangible legal position. “Ignite’s Motion to Dismiss on the basis of the expiration of the statute of limitations ignores the clear controlling legal framework under §95.11(10), Florida Statutes, which is applicable to child sexual abuse claims of this nature,” she wrote.

In December 2025, Horowitz attorneys conducted a site inspection at ILC, court records show.

In January 2026, ILC submitted a settlement proposal which the plaintiff accepted.

On February 24, 2026, the lawsuit was voluntarily dismissed by the plaintiff.

The lawsuit is connected to the pending Mariano Rivera lawsuit in New York and can be read about by clicking here.

There are now two pending civil lawsuits against ILC in Orange County, one from Horowitz Law Firm and one from Bagen Law Firm.

The other Horowitz suit was started in the same month as the suit described above. Court records indicate it has also been settled but formalities are still taking place.

The Bagen suit was started about 13 months ago and it doesn't show any signs of settling.
