Jacksonville Man Arrested on Warrant for Attempted Sexual Battery and Battery on Medical Provider

On Thursday, Kenneth Richard Geddes, 22, was booked into the Alachua County Jail on a warrant for attempted sexual battery and battery on a medical provider.

In December 2024, Geddes was in the custody of the North Florida Treatment and Evaluation Center under a court order for a mental health case out of Duval County.

According to the incident report, Geddes was standing on tables and yelling, leading the victim, a healthcare worker, to attempt to escort him back to his pod. Geddes reportedly acted uncooperative before charging at the victim, pushing her to the ground and attempting to rip her pants off. Another employee tried to intervene but it reportedly took a patient getting involved physically to stop the attack. 

Surveillance footage reportedly shows Geddes "forcefully pulling the waistband of [the victim’s] pants in an attempt to disrobe her.”      

Geddes’ bond was initially set between $50,000-$75,000 but he is not currently eligible for release because prosecutors have submitted a notice of intent to file a pretrial detention motion. It should be filed sometime this week.
