A woman facing charges for sexually battering a man has been released on bond.

Alachua County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Eryn Michelle Lane, 25, on June 6 and charged her with sexual assault.

According to the arrest report, on May 19, Deputy Daniel Roca contacted the victim to see if he wanted to pursue criminal charges after he reported Lane. The victim was surprised police reached out to him and assumed he’d be laughed at for being a male.

The victim said he was friends with Lane, and she frequently expressed romantic and sexual interest in him, which he never reciprocated. At one point, she asked the victim to “act as a father” to her toddler.

In early January, the victim, Lane and their mutual friends went out to get drinks downtown.

The victim said that after having about six drinks, he became more prone to accepting when others offered him drinks. He said Lane bought him multiple drinks and shots.

As the victim drank, Lane asked him to have sex again, and he declined again. Lane told others at the bar that she and the victim were together and took pictures with him, which he later learned she sent to his ex-girlfriend.

The victim told police, “She knew that I was not interested in any relationship, I wasn't interested in casual sex, was not interested in pursuing one in the future, she knew I was going through a tough time with the break up I was already dealing with. I explained it to her multiple times leading up to this whole situation. Ever since the first facetime call I told her, ‘you know I'm not really looking for anything I'm just trying to make friends.’"

At one point, Lane and the victim had stepped out of the bar, and she reportedly started showing him nude pictures of herself. The victim recalled thinking, "How many times have I fucking told you that this isn't what I want. I'm not interested in you like this. You're not gonna convince me. I've made up my mind.”

The victim told police that when it came time to leave, “Eryn refused to let their designated driver drive her car unless [the victim] continued the night at their apartment. According to [the victim], Eryn threatened to drive drunk and crash the car if he didn't agree to the terms.”

The victim said he does not remember getting in the car or getting out. He recalled that during the drive, Lane put “her mouth over his pants onto his penis.” The victim said his chest felt like it was caving because his ex-girlfriend lived at the same apartment complex as Lane.

The victim recalled drinking a lot of fireball and said he didn’t know how he ended up naked on Lane’s bed but did remember waking up. He was horrified to find blood covering his body and staining the bedsheets. He then looked over to see Lane naked next to him.

Lane woke up and asked the victim if he wanted to go for “round 2.” He said, "fuck no I don't want to go round 2.”

The victim took a shower and told Lane to take him home.

The victim told police, “ I immediately knew I did not consent to this but how I am... I've done body building in the past... I do MMA now and i'm like ‘how do I let that happen?’ I remember thinking that if people find out that this happened to me then you know my whole image is completely fucked… I feel that I shouldn't be getting taken advantage of by girls.”

Police got into contact with Lane’s roommate, who went out with her and the victim on the night of the incident. Lane’s roommate said the victim was “blackout drunk” and couldn't consent to sex. She said Lane was sober enough to hold a conversation and make decisions.

The victim’s roommate said that while at the residence, Lane told her she was going to “have sex” with the victim, went to the room he was sleeping in for 30 minutes, and then exited the room confirming they “had sex.”

Lane told her roommate that the victim was lying down and said she was on her period, explaining the blood. Lane later told her roommate and friends that she and the victim “had sex all night and had engaged in sex numerous times.” Lane said that the victim got her pregnant and that she wanted to keep the child.

Lane’s roommate told police that Lane is a pathological liar and that she believed she wanted to “baby trap” the victim.

Lane’s roommate said Lane is “very obsessive with boys and provided examples of other incidents with other boys.” She said that Lane “has tried to get other men drunk with the intent to have them have sex with her.”

Police made contact with Lane’s friend, who recently went on a trip with her. She said Lane made statements about wanting to get their mutual friend drunk and have sex.

Police contacted Lane’s ex-boyfriend, and he said he went through something similar to the victim. Lane’s ex-boyfriend said “no one would believe him and that he felt like it would not be worth reporting due to him being a male and [because] they were dating at the time of the incident.”

Despite multiple witnesses describing the opposite, Lane told police that the victim made advances towards her and that she declined because he was drunk. Lane claimed the victim pursued her and they had consensual sex. She said she wanted the victim to come back to her apartment for “his safety” and claimed he was okay with the period blood.

Lane said, “Everyone involved is conspiring against her,” when questioned about the contradictions between her statements and the victim’s and witnesses’ statements.

The State Attorney’s Office filed a pretrial detention motion, but Judge David Kreider denied it and set Lane’s bond at $25,000.

Lane was released Friday after posting the bond, court records show. She has been ordered to not contact the victim.
