Judge Reduces Bond for Man Charged with Showing and Distributing Obscene Material to Minor, Arrest Records Remain Sealed
Barry Bernard Johnson Jr. (ACSO Jail)

Judge Denise Ferrero has granted a bond reduction motion for Barry Bernard Johnson Jr., 30, who faces one count of showing obscene material to a minor and one count of distributing obscene material to a minor.

Police arrested Johnson on August 28, 2026. Prosecutors asked to seal the arrest records, citing the investigation being active and not wanting to publicize sensitive victim information. Prosecutors also feared potential witness tampering if the records went public because one of the witnesses hadn’t been interviewed yet.

Judge Susanne Wilson Bullard granted the request.

Johnson retained legal counsel from the Bullock & Means Law Firm. He was initially held on a $500,000 bond but his attorneys moved to reduce it or release him on recognizance.

Ferrero reduced the bond to $150,000 on Wednesday. Johnson has not yet posted the new bond and he currently remains in jail.

As of this writing, the arrest records remain sealed. At least two other documents filed in the case are also sealed.
