Lake City Man Arrested in Alachua County for Stalking and Harassment
Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) deputies booked Micheal Austin Burlingame, 30, into the Alachua County Jail Wednesday on a warrant for felony cyberstalking and misdemeanor charges of stalking and property damage.

The incidents occurred in September 2025 and prosecutors formally filed charges in January 2026.
According to the ACSO report, Burlingame sent disturbing messages to his ex (Vic 1), her father (Vic 2), and her new boyfriend (Vic 3).
Vic 1 told police there’s an “extensive history of previously unreported domestic violence, including being threatened with a firearm in another county.”
Burlingame reportedly began harassing Vic 1 in late June 2025.
According to the police report, the following month Burlingame called Vic 2 a total of 78 times within two days, leaving multiple voicemails ranting about the child custody issues between himself and the victim.
Police reports describe an incident on September 13, 2025, where Burlingame reportedly accosted Vic 1 and Vic 3 while they were in their vehicle. Burlingame reportedly tried to fight Vic 3, broke a side mirror, and slammed his fist on the windshield, causing it to break. The vehicle is owned by Vic 2 and the damage was estimated at $800.
In a sworn statement, Vic 3 said that Burlingame “sent law enforcement to his family’s home in Orlando, FL, to cause more distress.”
Two days in a row, Burlingame reportedly showed up his and Vic 1’s child’s school in an attempt to pick them up despite not having any custody.
Vic 1 showed police prior text messages where Burlingame spoke derogatorily towards her.
On September 17, Burlingame messaged Vic 3 several threatening messages on Snapchat. A deputy noted that Vic 3 appeared to constantly check the window during their interview and seemed to be in distress because of the threats.

The Alachua County Jail is holding Burlingame on a $50,000 bond set by Judge Meshon Rawls.
Burlingame has an arraignment scheduled for April 14.
Burlingame has reportedly lived in Lake City his entire life and is employed as a roofer.
In 2020, Burlingame was convicted of domestic battery in Columbia County and sentenced to one year of probation.
