Man Arrested for Aggravated Battery, Says Injuries Were Caused by Door

Gainesville Police Department officers arrested Rafael Andres Lizcano Amado, 34, Sunday night and charged him with aggravated battery. 

According to the arrest report, Amado slapped the victim three times and head-butted her, leaving visible injuries. 

Amado told police he didn’t hit the victim and said she “may have gotten her injuries from the front door when she was trying to prevent him from opening the door, and the door may have hit her in the face.”

Amado is being held in the Alachua County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
