Gainesville Police Department officers arrested Travis Jamar Graham, 34, last week and charged him with attempted murder, shooting into a residence and grand theft of a firearm.

According to the arrest report, Graham's neighbor threw a cigarette butt on the ground near him before entering his apartment. Graham shot three rounds of ammunition into the apartment after the victim shut the door.

Two witnesses told police they saw Graham and the neighbor arguing shortly before hearing gunshots.

Graham told police his actions were in self-defense.

Officers observed bullet holes in the victim’s door and shell casings on the floor.

The State Attorney’s Office filed a pretrial detention motion on Graham, but it was denied by Judge Denise Ferrero. She set his bond at $175,000 and ordered he wear an ankle monitor and not possess any weapons if released.
