Man Arrested for Violating Dating Violence Probation Again
Tuesday morning, police booked Neil Joseph Kazmerski, 34, into the Alachua County Jail on a probation violation warrant.
Kazmerski was initially arrested last year on dating violence charges and Judge Denise Ferrero later granted him withheld adjudications for aggravated cyberstalking, false imprisonment and domestic battery by strangulation. The case was resolved with a plea deal allowing Kazmerski to avoid formal convictions and escape a potential 15-year maximum prison sentence. Ferrero upheld the plea deal and the 180-day jail/50-month probation sentence negotiated between prosecutors and Kazmerski’s defense counsel.
On July 28, 2025, Kazmerski falsely imprisoned the victim in his residence for ten minutes before beating and strangling her. She had visible injuries.
Kazmerski reportedly had a “history of willfully, maliciously, and repeatedly sending the victim text messages containing hateful, degrading, forced and and threatening language, only ceasing once the victim feels forced and responds to end the abuse. These actions serve no legitimate purpose and have caused the victim significant emotional distress and put her in fear of [Kazmerski].”
On August 26, 2025, Kazmerski reportedly sent the victim messages threatening to burn down her house before going to the residence and attempting to gain entry.
Gainesville Police Department officers observed Kazmerski on the victim’s property when they arrived. There was also a witness on scene. Officers found a lighter in plain-view inside of Kazmerski’s vehicle.
Roughly five months after receiving his plea deal, Kazmerski was arrested for violating the conditions of his probation by testing positive on a drug test and associating with an individual engaged in drug-related activity.
Kazmerski later entered an open-plea of admission and Ferrero sentenced him to 90 days in jail, added a year of community control to his probation sentence and added drug offender conditions to his entire sentence.
Earlier this month, another warrant was issued to arrest Kazmerski after he reportedly violated his community control by failing to comply with residential compliance rules.
Kazmerski is held without bond and the probation office for the Florida Department of Corrections has recommended a sentence of incarceration.
