Man Arrested in Alachua County on Manatee County Warrant for Gun Threats, Released on Bond

Alachua County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Kenyatta Rowemell Reid, 23, Tuesday on a Manatee County warrant for aggravated assault with a firearm.

According to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office police report, on August 3, Reid was sitting in his car when he and the victim got into a verbal altercation. Reid “retrieved a small black semi-automatic firearm from the door panel and pointed it at [the victim] and their son,” the report states.

Reid reportedly waved the gun around and threatened to shoot the victim before lowering the weapon and leaving the area. 

Reid was convicted of felony battery in Alachua County court in 2021, and his new case put him in violation of his probation.

Reid was transferred to the Manatee County Jail Wednesday and released Thursday after posting a 15,000 bond, court records show.
