Man Arrested on Warrant Over Year After Charges Pressed

Sheriff’s Office deputies served a warrant on Mashawn Decory McCaskill, 38, Wednesday, over a year after his charges were pressed. 

In May 2024, the Alachua Police Department filed a sworn complaint on McCaskill for domestic battery and driving with a suspended license. 

The report states McCaskill and the victim were arguing in a gas station parking lot, and he slammed her head against their vehicle. McCaskill reportedly pulled the victim’s hair, leaving strands at the scene. 

McCaskill is being held in the Alachua County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
