Man Extradited Back to New York from Alachua County Jail on Child Sex Abuse Warrant

Police officers from New York picked up Daniel Shaffer today to extradite him back to his home state, the Alachua Country Jail told GnvInfo.
Last month, Gainesville Police Department officers arrested Shaffer for trespassing in a swimming pool and providing a false name.
With assistance from the Florida Highway Patrol’s rapid ID system, Gainesville police realized Shaffer was wanted on several sex crime charges.
Shaffer faces charges of committing a criminal sexual act in the first-degree, predatory sexual assault against a child, first-degree incest, and first-degree rape.
