Man Sentenced to Six Months Community Control for Not Providing Social Media Accounts on Sex Offender Registration

Registered sex offender Marvin Maximillian Buchannon, 41, was sentenced to six months community control last week after being convicted of not meeting sex offender registration requirements. 

Buchannon was convicted of sexual battery in 2004. 

According to the sworn complaint, Buchannon told Sheriff’s Office deputies that he had no social media accounts while having accounts for YouTube, Facebook and Linktree. Buchannon did not provide the accounts on his sex offender registration as required. 

Buchannon will be required to wear a GPS monitor while on community control.
