Man Sentenced to Six Months Probation for Domestic Assault

Terry Lee Crawford, 59, was sentenced to six months probation last week after being convicted of domestic assault.
Facing up to a year in jail for the misdemeanor, Crawford took a plea deal that was accepted by Judge Menhson Rawls.
The arrest report states Crawford and the victim were in an argument over him cutting her lights, as he was the maintenance man for her apartment complex.
Crawford reportedly opened the victim’s door in an aggressive manner causing it to make contact with the wall. When the victim pushed back on the door, Crawford moved it towards her. Crawford attempted to swing a speaker at the victim but she moved out of the way. He reportedly told her she "better had jump" before leaving the scene.

A witness told police he saw Crawford attempt to hit the victim with the speaker.
Crawford’s probation requires him to take an anger management class and not contact the victim.
