Sex Offense Case Expunged
Update | February 14, 2026: Simon Flores' case appears to have been expunged on Alachua County court records and the article was updated to reflect this. More information was added, including when GnvInfo received contact from Flores' family member. Some text was removed and replaced with a copy of the police report.
Simon David Flores, 29, was arrested on November 26, 2024 on the following charges:


Flores is from Newberry.

Although the case was expunged, the police report was retained and reads as follows:



Flores was released after posting a $100,000 bond.
The State Attorney’s Office did not file for pretrial detention.

Flores' Instagram username was mcneil_kurt.
Flores’ sought a public defender.

Prosecutors dropped Flores’ charges on April 4, 2025.
In August 2025, GnvInfo received contact from Flores' family member asking for the article to be removed so he could "move forward with his life and aspirations in the future."
When asked why the charges were dropped, the family member replied, "They did a search of his room and confiscated his phone [and completed] an electronic forensic examination. They did not find any child pornography or any weapons of any kind."
When asked about the dropping of the obscene communication charge specifically, the family member said she didn't know why it was dropped. When told the article would not be removed, the family member said, "He's in counseling because of his clinical depression. I get the impression that you are trying him as a judge, and jury and convicting him without his day in court. I'm disappointed that you feel it's up to you to sentence him."
