One Injured in Shooting on Northeast 55th Boulevard
On October 15, at 6:55 pm, Alachua police responded to calls about a shooting at a residence on NE 55th Blvd, located off University Ave.
Police audio indicates the suspect fled the scene in an SUV. One caller reported the SUV was white, while another said it was gray. One officer remarked the shooter’s vehicle was heading towards 39th Ave. They also suspected it was a drive-by shooting, however, this has not been confirmed. The suspect was described as wearing a black shirt and gray sweatpants. At this time no arrests have been reported.
The victim was described as a man with a gunshot wound to the chest. They were transported to the hospital, with reportedly non-life-threatening injuries.
