Pastor’s Brother Denied Pretrial Release in Alleged Agg Assault on LEO Case

Ignite Life Center (ILC) pastor Nick Bruce’s brother, nephew of head pastor Mark Vega, and Mariano Rivera Foundation (MRF) alumni, Victor Bruce, was denied bond in his aggravated assault on police case Thursday morning.
Judge David Kreider granted a pretrial detention motion by the State Attorney’s Office, meaning Bruce will remain incarcerated while his case forgoes.
None of Victor Bruce’s family attended his pretrial hearing but GnvInfo and multiple former ILC congregants were present.
Before Victor Bruce was brought into the courtroom, Assistant State Attorney Pamela Brockway announced that as of 12:01 p.m., Florida law officially changed to allow hearsay alone to be considered by the court.
Victor Bruce was brought into the courtroom with shackles around his ankles and wrists.
Kreider asked Victor Bruce’s public defender, Alcksandra Osterman-Burgess, if she had any evidence in Victor Bruce’s defense, and she said she did not.
Kreider said the state “has a strong case,” and referenced the firearms found at Victor’s Bruce‘s residence and his mental health before granting the motion.
The State Attorney’s Office has 40 days to formally file the charges or Victor Bruce will be legally entitled to a bond.
More information on ILC is available in the investigation below.
