Pharmacist Arrested for Domestic Battery and Illegally Installing Tracking Device
Alachua County Sheriff’s Office deputies booked Jay Cutter Swerbilow, 34, into jail Monday on a warrant for misdemeanor domestic battery and a felony charge for installing a tracking device on person or property without consent.
On January 27, the victim reportedly discovered that Swerbilow placed an Apple AirTag inside her vehicle.

According to the police report, the victim talked to Swerbilow about what she found, leading to a verbal altercation that turned physical when Swerbilow grabbed and pulled her arms multiple times.
The altercation continued with Swerbilow reportedly walking towards the front door and grabbing one of the victim’s house keys. The police report states Swerbilow was attempting to leave with the victim’s key and she forced the front door shut to stop him from stealing it. The victim was able to take the key back from Swerbilow during the altercation and he eventually left the residence.
The victim provided police with video evidence and a sworn statement, in addition to text messages where Swerbilow reportedly told her “he was sorry for placing the the air tag inside of her vehicle and wanted to talk about this situation.”
“On the video, I could see that [Swerbilow] grabbed the Vic’s wrists tightly and would not let go until [she] started to pull away from [him],” reported Gainesville Police Department Officer Brandon Fowler. He reported that Swerbilow “was not on scene upon our arrival.” “I called his phone and left a voicemail but have not received a response back.”
According to his LinkedIn account, Swerbillow served as a pharmacist at the University of Florida (UF) from March 2018 to August 2018. UF Public Affairs Director Cynthia Roldon advised that their records show Swerbillow was a temporary employee with Vet. Medicine for 20 days in May 2018. She said he obtained a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from UF in 2017.

The Florida Department of Health website also shows Swerbilow's status as a registered pharmacist.
A warrant for Swerbilow’s arrest was issued on March 25 and he was taken into police custody five days later. He was released from jail after posting a $75,000 bond.
Today, April 2, prosecutors filed formal charges against Swerbilow.
