Registered Sex Offender Arrested For Battering Woman in Grace Marketplace Computer Room
Update | April 2, 2026:
It appears the charges in Dominick Smith's 2024 case were dropped and expunged from court records. However, in 2o25, he was convicted violating his sex offender registration and felony battery and sentenced to five years in prison.

Registered sex offender Dominick Desmond Smith, 37, was arrested on Sunday and charged with battery by a repeat offender (dating violence).
The arrest report states that on Friday the victim had an argument with Smith. She was getting her stuff from the Grace Marketplace computer room when Smith allegedly tackled her.
It was alleged that after being tackled, the victim got up and Smith held her back from leaving the room. Smith reportedly continued to batter the victim while screaming at her. The incident was reportedly caught on camera.
Grace Marketplace employees separated Smith from the victim and escorted him out of the shelter. Smith left the area and was arrested two days later.
Smith has a prior domestic battery conviction in Sumter County, and his first appearance order states he’s a registered sex offender.
Smith’s bond is set at $15,000.
