Sex Offender Sentenced to 18 Months in Prison for Not Registering

Registered sex offender Steven Garrett Head, 56, was found guilty of failing to meet registration requirements Wednesday and sentenced to 1 ½ years in prison with 56 days credit for time served, court records show.
Head failed to update his sex offender registration bi-annually as required, according to the sworn complaint.
In 2017, Head was convicted in Lake County Court on one count of traveling to meet a minor to commit a sexual offense.
Head has two prior convictions in Marion County for failing to meet registration requirements, according to the Florida sex offender database.
Head is scheduled to be released in September 2026.
