Shooting at Alan's Discount Muffler & Auto Repair Shop

On July 21, at 12:30 pm, Gainesville police received calls about a shooting at Northeast 33rd Avenue. The incident took place at Alan’s Discount Mufflers. According to an employee who picked up the phone, a man came into the store, dissatisfied with the service he received he began attacking the boss. After punching him on the ground the boss reportedly took out his pistol and shot the attacker in the stomach area.
The employee described the assaulter as a large 6 ft man with dreadlocks. He mentioned no property damage was sustained and nobody else was hurt in the altercation.
According to a GPD Facebook post the incident is still under active investigation and all parties involved are being interviewed by detectives. When more information on this incident is retrieved an update will be posted to this page.
