Starke Man Transferred From Alachua Jail to Sumter Jail for Battering Victim While Promoting Business at The Villages
Andrew Brett Wiseman (Sumter County Jail)

On January 21, Andrew Brett Wiseman, 28, was booked into the Alachua County Jail on a Sumter County aggravated battery warrant.

Wiseman was transferred to the Sumter County Jail within two days.

According to the report by the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, on January 11, Deputy Desfonds responded to the Walmart located in The Villages neighborhood in reference to a domestic battery.

The victim said she was with Wiseman at The Villages where he was attempting to promote his business by handing out business cards and giving job quotes.

While driving around, Wiseman and the victim began arguing. Wiseman reportedly stopped the vehicle and walked to the passenger door where the victim was sitting and ripped her out of the vehicle by her shirt, leaving her in a ditch.

The victim had visible injuries across her body.

Desfonds made contact with Wiseman via phone who claimed that the victim got out of the vehicle on her own and that nothing physical occurred.

The police report continues, “Corporal R. Chavis was able to locate the incident location providing an address of 262 Moyer Loop, The Villages, FL, 32163, within Sumter County. While Corporal Chavis was at the incident location he discovered the following items to be scattered around the area - a brown a white hat, black sun glasses, a green long sleeve shirt, and multiple business cards scattered around the area. The victim was able to confirm that all the items located belonged to the defendant.”

No arrest was made at the time because deputies were unable to locate Wiseman.

Wiseman's first appearance form says his bond was set at $5,000, however, the Sumter County Jail booking log says he is still held in the jail without bond.
