A Suwannee County man was booked into the Alachua County jail Sunday on a warrant for intimidation after sending the victim a rape and death threat over text.

According to the sworn complaint, Ernest Ray Sexton, 58, texted the victim “you're going to get F***** over lively with no Vaseline and I'm going to take you down the hill and cut you up in bits.”

Sexton was not in Alachua County at the time of the incident, but the victim was within the University of Florida (UF) Police Department (UFPD’s) jurisdiction when receiving the messages, making the incident an Alachua County court case.

UFPD Officer Stephen Peters reported, “The victim also told me that he has had numerous phone calls with [Sexton] through the phone number. The victim also received photos of [Sexton’s] new firearms (it should be noted this was prior to the threat and other concerning messages).”
