Texas Man Arrested for Sending Racist Death Threats to UF Employee

Connor Scott Brockenbush, 34, was booked into the Alachua County Jail yesterday on a warrant for sending written threats to kill or do bodily injury.

On May 17, Brockenbush reportedly sent the victim four emails containing racist statements and/or death threats.

Brockenbush made racist anti-Asian statements towards the victim, a Korean University of Florida assistant professor, in addition to disturbing death threats that involved decapitation and cannibalism, according to the University of Florida Police Department report.

Alongside the written threats, Brockenbush further sent the victim a clip from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre horror movie where the villain kills a female actress. He further sent what’s described in the police report as a “photo of the Texas Chiansaw Massacre villain holding up a super imposed picture of the victims head. With the words ***the end of Victim’s life.”

Using a Google search warrant, officers determined that Brockenbush was living in Grapevine, Texas.

According to the police report, “[Brockenbush] intended these threats to be true when he conducted a search of the victim using Google, obtained her public UF email address, researched content depicting harm, and creating original content depicting harm to the victim and sending it to her, in four emails. [Brockenbush] is an unknown person to the victim.”

Brockenbush has no bond pending a pretrial detention motion from prosecutors.

If found guilty Brockenbush could be sentenced to 15 years in prison.
