Gainesville Police Department officers arrested Christopher “Wolf” King, 44, Tuesday on a warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

King's arrest report shows he is also known as "Wolf" and "WolfMan." (Alachua County Court Records)

On April 15, at 10 a.m., a Campus Walk Apartments resident contacted GPD stating a man named “Wolf” was currently trying to stab him with a butcher knife and that he was actively running away.

“Upon hearing the suspect’s description and the nickname ‘Wolf’ broadcast over the radio myself and numerous other officers immediately knew exactly who ‘Wolf’ was…. Christopher King,” reported GPD Officer Shawn Barnes.

After being on the phone with 911 for a minute, the victim stated he no longer saw “Wolf” and did not know where he went. The victim went back to his apartment and waited for the police.

The victim told officers that he met “Wolf” about an hour prior to the attempted stabbing. The sworn complaint states, “The two were fine at first but eventually had a disagreement over money. At this point ‘Wolf’ got increasingly hostile and threatened the victim continuously before leaving. An hour later, ‘Wolf’ returned and came chasing after him, with the butcher knife.”

The victim said “Wolf” had a ski mask on when he chased him but that he immediately recognized him due to their recent confrontation.

Officers located surveillance footage that reportedly showed “Wolf” “screaming a profanity-laced tirade of threats at the victim.”

Barnes reported that “Wolf” is “shown on surveillance video climbing a staircase in a back corner of the complex [and] walking at a brisk pace, clearly ‘on a mission.’ Here [‘Wolf’] is greeted by an individual he is obviously friends with. [‘Wolf’] asks this person, ‘where those bitch-ass niggas at...' This person can clearly be heard responding, ‘Come on now, Wolf!’ This individual clearly knows exactly who [‘Wolf’] is despite his mask and sunglasses, and is clearly not pleased with [his] intentions. [‘Wolf’] responds, ‘I'm gonna fuck both these niggas up! - gonna teach them about playin…’ Less than a minute later, a different camera view shows the victim entering a nearby hallway from one end and immediately seeing [‘Wolf’] emerge from the other end. [‘Wolf’] is still walking 'on a mission’ and immediately advances toward the victim upon spotting him. The victim is in clear and obvious fear, as he quickly turns around and retreats back down the same stairs he just came up. The victim was on the phone when he spotted [‘Wolf’], but immediately lowered the phone and disregarded his active phone conversation in the process of quickly retreating. [‘Wolf’] still has a mask on and the large kitchen knife can clearly be seen in his right hand.”

Officers did not locate “Wolf” at the scene and issued a warrant for his arrest.

The sworn complaint states officers conducted a traffic stop on “Wolf” a few weeks before the incident they spoke with him about his “Black Gangster Disciples Gang affiliation.”
