Alachua County Man Arrested for Violating Domestic Violence Injunction Order
Frank Ralph Stitt, 64, was arrested on Saturday and charged with violating a domestic violence injunction for protection.
Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) responded to the incident location after getting calls about an armed domestic disturbance.
The victim told police that Stitt threatened her during a verbal argument while holding his hand on his gun holster.
Stitt reportedly spontaneously stated he owned a gun and that it was in a drawer but that he never touched it that night. Stitt allowed deputies to search his home and see the gun.
ACSO Deputy Alexis Nelson determined with other deputies that “aggravated assault had not occurred,” but found that Stitt has a non-expiring domestic violence injunction preventing him from legally owning firearms.
Stitt was convicted in 2016 by Putnam County court for violating the injunction.
Stitt’s first appearance order states he’s been employed at Hawthorne campground Lochloosa Harbor for six months.
Stitt has the option of paying a $2,500 surety bond or a $200 cash bond.
