Alachua Man Arrested After Hitting Circle K Employee Over Gas Pump Not Working

Alachua Police Department (APD) officers arrested Paul Christopher Allan, 41, early Wednesday morning and charged him with battery, property damage, and resisting an officer without violence.
According to the arrest report, employees at the Circle K/Wendy’s in Alachua called police at 12:53 a.m. to report Allan’s behavior at the store.
Two employees told officers that Allan entered the store, irritated over the fuel pump not working to his liking. As Allan grew angrier, he reportedly punched a phone charging display case, causing it to hit one of the employees. Allan then left the store and drove across the street, where he met police.
The arrest report states Allan “refused multiple lawful commands to exit the vehicle until being advised several times that he would be arrested if he did not. Upon beginning a check for weapons due to [Allan’s] demeanor, he again began to resist, attempting to back up and jerk away.”
Allan was released after posting a $2,000 bond.
