Alachua Police Department Releases Footage of Robbery at Royal Inn

Saturday morning, a man robbed the the Royal Inn motel located at 16305 NW 162 Ln.

The Alachua Police Department (ASO) has released footage of the incident and asked for assistance in tracking down the suspect.

It is difficult to make out what the suspect is saying when he enters the Royal Inn, however, he can be heard telling the victim “don’t move,” and “I will kill you dead,” as he takes money out of the cash register.

ASO’s Facebook post on the robbery describes the suspect as a “[Black] male, approximately 5'10" tall, of slender build, and was wearing an unzipped black hoodie, no shirt, light-colored blue jeans with designed rear pockets, black shoes, a gold chain, a red bandana around his face, and gloves.”

Following the robbery, the suspect reportedly fled Eastwards towards a joint Wendy’s/Circle K building.

ASO has asked anyone with information on the suspect‘s identity to call ASO at 386-462-1396.
